Here at My Dress Room, we love the Teen Choice Awards, because it gives us genuine style inspiration. The blue carpet is a lot more laid back, with Hollywood’s younger stars taking centre stage in the kind of dresses you would love to wear on a night out with your girls. We may not all be able to afford the designer price tag, but we can be inspired by the colours, the silhouettes and the prints. Plus you get to see plenty of gorgeous summer beauty looks – beachy waves and glowing skin.

So let us not delay the fashion goodness any longer, and get to the blue carpet loveliness..

TCA 2015 Best Dressed - Bella Thorne and Nina Dobrev

Bella Thorne looked both youthful and stunning in a coral motif mini dress by Balmain, in a vibrant orange shade that complemented her glowing skin and strawberry blonde hair beautifully. Also loving the finishing touches of the gold box clutch from Lee Savage and the strappy nude sandals. Nina Dobrev also showed off an enviable pair of legs in an embellished bandage dress by Zuhair Murad, which she paired with some stunning sky scraper heels by Tamara Mellon. She kept her hair relaxed, but chic, and her make up neutral with a statement eye…just lovely.

TCA 2015 Best Dressed - Sarah Hyland and Lea Michelle

Modern family star Sarah Hyland, looked super cute and super stylish in a tailored two piece from Christian Siriano. The sunny yellow shade is perfect for the summer and coordinated perfectly with  her wavy ombre bob. Lea Michelle was pretty personified in a floral skirt and top from Monique Lhuillier, with contrasting colours, which worked so well together. She kept her hair young and fresh, taking the front sections off her face to show off beautifully glowing skin.

TCA Best Dressed - Lucy Hale and Italia Ricci

Pretty Little Liar Lucy Hale, kept to her trademark edgy style in a gorgeous midnight blue dress from Julien Macdonald, with a dramatic deep-V mesh neckline. She completed her stunning look with heavily lined eyes, sleek up do and super shiny, black box clutch. Italia Ricci

Bridesmaids on a Budget

Any brides out there getting ready for their wedding? Having watched my sister plan her wedding a few years ago, I know how stressful it can be, not to mention expensive. You have found the dress of your dreams and now you need to find stunning dresses for the special girls in your life, your bridesmaids.

After you’ve bought flowers, booked a reception and decided on a menu, you may find that there is less in the budget than planned for the bridesmaid’s dresses. After all, if you buy your bridesmaid dresses from a proper bridal shop, they can cost upwards of £200 each, ad if you have more than a couple of wing ladies, the cost is really going to add up.

However, there is no need for brides to despair, you don’t need the bridal shops to find some beautiful bridesmaid dresses. You can find something truly wonderful and budget friendly, if you just shop around a little bit. Plus, you are likely to find something a little more wearable, that your bridesmaid’s can wear on more than one occasion. Just take a look at these bridesmaid appropriate dresses we have here at My Dress Room, and all of them are below £80…

Budget Friendly Bridesmaids

Budget Friendly Bridesmaids: 1) Green Strapless Maxi Dress; 2) Light Blue Strapless Maxi Dress; 3) Green Spaghetti Strap Maxi Dress; 4) Red Maxi Dress.

Best wishes to any brides planning their big day.

The Best of the 2015 Cannes Red Carpet

31 May 2015 0 No tags Permalink 0

Don’t you just love it when the Cannes Film Festival comes around. You get to find out what films are a must see later on in the year, and you get to see so much stunning celebrity style on the red carpet of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Even if you go green with envy, every time you see the cloudless blue sky and extravagant yacht parties.

However, we were disappointed in the widely reported story that women were being turned away from the red carpet if they were not wearing high heels. Many women don’t like high heels, chose comfort over ankle pain, or have medical conditions that makes it unwise to wear heels. It is a sad state of affairs when women are shamed in such a way, especially in such a public setting. We hope whoever implemented that ludicrous rule, has learned their lesson.

So, since we are on the red carpet anyway, we may as well take a look at some of those lovely ladies that have been rocking it at Cannes…

2015 at Cannes - Sienna Miller and Marion Cotillard

Judge Sienna Miller has been the style star of Cannes and she has surpassed even herself in this shimmering gown from Ralph Lauren, just stunning. Not everyone will be impressed with Marion Cotillard’s choice of gown, but we love the grass green shade of her column gown by Jean Paul Gaultier. (Image Source)

2015 at Cannes - Toni Gaarn and Jourdan Dunn

Model Toni Gaarn showed off her enviable legs in a watercolour gown, with a sports luxe feel, from Elie Saab; loving the sleeked back hair too. The cut and silhouette of Jourdan Dunn’s Vera Wang dress is divine, hugging her in all the right places, and the placid blue shade is just divine. (Image Source)

2015 at Cannes - Anya Rubik and Juilianne Moore

Model Anya Rubik channelled some serious Studio 54 vibes in a shimmering blue gown by Dsquared2; her simple hair and make up were the perfect accompaniment. How incredible is the rich claret shade of Julianne Moore’s custom gown from Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci? Will she ever get it wrong on the red carpet? (Image Source)

2015 at Cannes - Naomi Watts and Natalie Portman

Naomi Watts is ethereal and beautiful in a feathered and embellished gown from Elie Saab Couture gown, and that quiff…bravo Naomi. Red has been a popular colour of choice at Cannes, but no one has worn it better than Natalie Portman in this column dress from no other than Dior. (Image Source)
